Greeting to Pastors

David Wilkerson

Greeting to Pastors,

I'm Pastor David Wilkerson, founding pastor of Times Square Church, New York City. I would like to share my heart with you as to my reason for coming to your area.

I didn't want to preach to pastors until I had gray hair, until I had pastored. I've been an evangelist for many, many years. Now after 15 years of pastoring, sharing the hurts and the pains, difficulties of the ministry as a pastor, I felt the Lord finally released me that I might have something to say. We don't come to your area to ask anything of you or your people. We come to give and we come as a servant.

I've been preaching for 50 years and I've come to learn as well as to share. In all of our meetings to pastors, we've seen great encouragement, [in] many [pastors] who are hurting, many ready to quit the ministry, leave the pastorate. We've been praying that God would bring unity and this has been happening in the meetings. Pastors are getting together, real genuine Holy Ghost led unity. And also to see a loving conviction from the Heavenly Father, convicting of sin in a loving way but also encouraging. I've never seen so many hurting pastors.

We need your support, we are not asking for financial support, we are asking for your prayer support and your cooperation in your area to reach as many pastors as possible. See I'm in my seventies. I don't have anything to prove to anybody. I've had all the honors a man can stand. I've been blessed, the Lord has preserved a good name for the ministry He has given to us. He has truly given me a heart and burden for pastors. And this has been birthed in prayers. I can promise one thing when I come to your area, I would have come having prayed through and asking God to show me what the needs are locally, not something I've preached as an American message.

I honestly believe if God is going to move in your area, it's not going to come from the United States or some star evangelist - it's going to come from the hearts of ministers who are yielded in your area, your country and your nation. So I've just shared a little bit of my heart and we will come, God willing, humbly before him, broken and with a message that I hope and trust is from God's own heart.

God bless you and we hope to see you when we come to your area.
