In May 2005, a team from World Challenge Missions toured the ravaged city streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. We were taken to a section called 'the mile' which the World Health Organization recently labeled as having the highest Aids population of any square mile in the world.
The country Haiti brings to mind poverty, violence and voodoo. However, this is only half the story. God is marvelously at work; churches are being planted, orphanage and clinics are being established and outreach teams are ministering in many cities.
The team spoke at a pastors' conference and attended the inauguration of a new bible school. World Challenge Missions has committed to help the school and to bless the pastors as they give their all to one of the world's neediest people. We continue to send resources to help this poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. And as we pray for Haiti, we believe that nothing is too difficult for the Lord.
