In a small Zambian village, seven-year-old Justin was about to be brutally burned by a group of villagers. He had been forced by his witch grandmother to take part in cultic practices, including sleeping in graveyards.

We recently received an update from Dr. Ruby of Jeevan Jyoti Clinic and Community Centre in India, a ministry World Challenge helps support. She has established a balwadi and is beginning to teach the children English.

Jeevan Jyoti Clinic & Community Centre is located in Dum Dere Bol, an infamously dangerous and violent area in the Budhwar Peth red-light district in Pune, India. The clinic, owned and operated by Dr. Robina “Ruby” Fredericks, opened on March 17th, 2005. The clinic provides free medical care, counseling, and prayer for women, eunuchs, and children living in the area. The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 2:00 to 4:00PM.
